The Durham report refuted the narrative of former President Donald Trump colluding with Russia to win the 2016 Election for good. Now, Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) seeks to charge former House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) a $16 million fine for continuing to propagate the narrative.
Why $16 million? Rep. Luna stated this was approximately half the cost of the federal investigation, therefore suggesting Rep. Schiff owes much culpability in pushing the Trump-Russia collusion story.
"The GOP Conference agrees that Adam Schiff has betrayed the trust of the American people, purposely abused positions of extreme authority, lied continuously, and as such, must be held to account. Accordingly, the resolution requires Rep. Schiff to pay a $16 million fine, half of the cost American taxpayers were forced to pay for the Russia hoax investigation," Luna told Fox News.
Luna had also filed a motion to have Schiff expelled from Congress, stating he was "a dishonor to the House of Representatives" and "unfit for office."
"Knowingly using your position on House Intel to push a lie that ripped apart our country, cost taxpayers millions of dollars, and authorized spying on a US President and then proceeding to double down on the lie within days of the Durham Report coming out makes you unfit for office," tweeted Luna.
By "doubling down," Luna referred to Schiff's comments after the Durham report release, who said Durham's investigation was "flawed from the start" and "the FBI had a good reason to investigate — Durham didn’t."
Schiff continued making himself the hero, claiming he "stood up to Donald Trump and held extreme MAGA forces accountable," adding, "They'll go after anyone who defends the rule of law."
"A MAGA Republican Member of Congress just filed a motion to expel me from the U.S. House of Representatives. I stood up to Donald Trump and held extreme MAGA forces accountable. Now they want payback. They’ll go after anyone who defends the rule of law," Schiff stated.
