Both Republican and Democratic lawmakers have expressed their distaste for the practice of human trafficking that has been occurring as a result of the border crisis with Mexico, particularly the trafficking of migrant children.
While Democrats have paid the issue lip service, and the Biden administration has dismissed the border crisis as being over, Republican lawmakers continue to file legislation to push back against illegal immigration as well as human trafficking and continue pressing the Biden administration to push back harder against the drug cartels controlling the flow of illegal immigration and the criminality that comes with it.
