Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was inaugurated this week and the event was nothing less than presidential. As we wrote, this was the first shot across the bow against former President Donald Trump, and Casey DeSantis stole the show.
Never has Florida seen an inauguration like this.
But what made the event so unique?
Forget about the military cannon salute, the U.S. Air Force flyover, the presence of a staggering amount of military and law enforcement personnel, the police snipers on the roof of the capitol, or even the barricaded streets and presidential-looking stage.
It was First Lady Casey DeSantis who stole the show.
Mrs. DeSantis stole the show.
Yes, Gov. DeSantis gave his red meat speech, but it was Mrs. DeSantis's Jackie Kennedy-like appearance that made the event. MUST WATCH
Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz took to the floor of the House of Representatives during the House Speaker votes and flexed his muscles in opposition to Republican Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy.
Rep. Gaetz, who has been very clear and open about his distaste for Leader McCarthy’s candidacy for Speaker, eviscerated McCarthy in front of the entire lower chamber.
All negotiations between McCarthy and Conservative members like Gaetz have failed.
Just a couple of weeks back, Gaetz and McCarthy were seen walking in the Rayburn Room in the Capitol to try to hash things out.
Follow closely behind the two men were Reps. Jim Jordan and Lauren Boebert.
Rep. Boebart smirked and rolled their eyes after The Floridian asked her about the Gaetz and McCarthy meeting.
Rep. Jordan just laughed and said, “they are trying,” when we asked him,” Jim, are they playing nice?”
Interestingly enough, there could be more defections in a fourth vote.
Several members of the Republican Conference have told The Floridian that they were plugging their nose to vote for McCarthy, and that they would rather see someone like Rep. Jordan be Speaker.
According to one Florida House member, “Jordan doesn’t want it.” Rep. Byron Donalds, who changed his vote on the third ballot, was one of those fence-riding members.
Rep. Donalds voted for Jordan on the third try. Rep. Gaetz’s KING KONG moment on the floor of the House of Representatives can be READ HERE

The ongoing circus in the House of Representatives continues as Gaetz is now rightfully questioning why McCarthy has moved into the office of the Speaker of the House without having been elected to the position.
