 Tropical Storm Elsa

The weakened storm is expected to intensive into a Category 1 Hurricane while it grazes the west coast of Florida en route before it comes ashore somewhere over the state's big bend area.



Gov. Ron DeSantis has not been at the building collapse site because he has been monitoring Tropical Storm Else from the Tallahassee EOC, but Lt. Gov. Jeanette Nunez has been giving the daily updates onsite with Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.

The death toll has risen to 36 and the hopes of finding anyone alive is diminishing quickly as the rescue effort continues about two weeks after the collapse of the Champlain Towers South condominium.
