VIVA CUBA! CUBA LIBRE!
After years of relative silence in Communist Cuba, the protests occurring on the island condemning the decades-long oppression the Cuban regime has been engaged in have given hope to the exile community in Miami that Castro’s Cuba could be on the verge of collapse.
The Cuban regime is pure evil, or as Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar refers to it, a “satanic nightmare.” READ MORE
Politicizing a Political Event
Everything in life is political. This we know. But one would think that both Republicans and Democrats would try to keep away from politicizing these historic protests in Cuba, at least for an hour or so, right?
Big nope.
Florida Democrats in their utter hatred for Gov. Ron DeSantis made his statement about the protests in Cuba all about the anti-rioting law that he signed a few months ago. READ MORE
DeSantis Swag
Get your DeSantis “Don’t Fauci My Florida” beer coolers. With DeSantis’ reelection committee now peddling hats, t-shirts, and beer coolers, could there be a chance that Reps. Anna Eskamani and Carlos Guillermo Smith go out and buy some swag?
Not a chance in a “satanic nightmare.” My guess is that they will hold out for Rep. Charlie Crist's merch store to pop up so that they can buy some "For the People" sunblock.
Now, I could see POLITICO’s Gary Fineout, Matt Dixon, and Marc Caputo (definitely Caputo) running out and spending $12 on a beer cooler.
Rick Scott @SenRickScott-As the courageous Cuban people reject communism & demand freedom & democracy, the U.S. & all freedom-loving nations must stand at their side in support. I urge @POTUS to take immediate action to expand sanctions for the Castro regime’s oppressive brutality. Its time is up.
-Who prohibits fishermen & farmers from selling food?
-Who prohibits owning a business?
-Who takes 10% of $ sent by relatives & converts remainder into worthless currency?
-Who built luxury resorts for tourists but left crumbling homes for Cubans?
The socialist regime
Mario Diaz-Balart @MarioDB-Once again, U.S. oil is bad, while a U.S. adversary's oil is good. It's outrageous that while the #Cuban people are risking everything for freedom, the Biden admin reversed some Trump sanctions on #VZ's oil industry, the very industry which Maduro uses to prop up the Cuban regime
Debbie Wasserman Schultz @DWStweets-Maduro is terrified the demonstrations in Cuba will soon spread to the people of Venezuela and is already stepping up attacks on his opposition. America stands with President @JGuaid , @FreddyGuevaraC and everyone fighting for a democratic #Venezuela
