The situation in Venezuela is dire, and has been for quite some time. Dictator Nicolas Maduro has had his boot firmly planted on the necks of the Venezuelan people, and there hasn’t been much the U.S. or any other free nation, have been able to do about it.
The Trump administrations recent decision to ban cruises to Cuba was predicated on the Cuban government’s continued role in destabilizing the Western Hemisphere, and supporting anti-Democratic and lawless countries like Nicolas Maduro’s Venezuela, and Daniel Ortega’s Nicaragua.
“The Republicans are definitely already trying to paint us into a corner as socialists."
Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) and Senator Marco Rubio (R) continue to be the one-two punch that is affectively delivering daily body blow after body blow to the Maduro regime.
Scott, who has advocated for military intervention in Venezuela, told the President that he “MUST consider using naval assets” to for a similar blockade used against Cuba in 1962, to enforce sanctions and cut off the flow of oil between the two regimes.
“The United States Should not anoint the leader of the opposition in Venezuela during an internal, politicized conflict.”
“The Chinese are there. The Russians are there. They are not our friends,” said Scott. “Its (China) government that has built a military to compete with us.
The Treasury department is targeting companies that transport Venezuelan oil to Cuba, which is accused of propping up Dictator Maduro, and have helped fund the human rights violations that his government have committed.
“Maduro is intentionally starving his citizens, they don’t have food, they don’t have water, they don’t have medicine,” said Scott, adding that “85% of kids under 7” are malnourished.
"This bill sends a clear message that the United States stands with the people of Venezuela."
But in his final years as governor of Florida, Scott began to callout Venezuela, and the Cuban regime that has propped up that dictatorship, as well as other similar governments throughout Latin America.
"More drugs are coming out of Colombia right now than before he was president, so he has done nothing for us.”
Now Venezuela’s Socialist Party leader and “Drug Czar,” Diosdado Cebello, has challenged Rubio to take a lie detector test with him.
No, this is not an episode of "Punk'd" or "impractical Jokers," this is an actual claim by the Maduro regime.
Capitalism “is the system that built us the greatest nation and the greatest economy in the world.”
"The United States and our Latin American allies stand together as we continue to apply pressure on the Maduro regime.”
“The United States will not stand idly."
"We must capitalize on the growth of this energy sector.”
