Just hours before Americans head to the polls to participate in a historic presidential election, the US’ intelligence community (IC) has released a warning of potential Russian and Iranian election interference.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) published a joint statement claiming Russia and Iran are seeking to erode Americans’ trust in election integrity.

Specifically, the statement suggests Russia is attempting to diffuse propaganda alleging Arizona election officials are creating voting fraud to support Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Russian influence actors also manufactured and amplified a recent video that falsely depicted an interview with an individual claiming election fraud in Arizona, which involved creating fake overseas ballots and changing voter rolls to favor Vice President Kamala Harris,” reads the statement.

Alternatively, the IC warned Iran was targeting former President Donald Trump via cyberattacks and planned assassinations

Beside “malicious cyber activities to compromise former President Trump’s campaign,” explains the IC report, Iran also “remains determined to seek revenge against select former US officials whom it views as culpable for the death of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force (IRGC-QF) Commander Soleimani…(and) has repeatedly highlighted former President Donald Trump among its priority targets for retribution.

Last September, the IC revealed individuals associated with Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign received stolen Trump campaign information from Iran.

Yet, despite Iran’s affronts against Trump, he has defiantly brushed these aside.

Regarding Iranian plots against his life, Trump asserted “an attack on a former President is a Death Wish for the attacker.”

Trump has survived two assassination attempts to date and has seen his security detail rapidly expand in.
