In the wake of several antisemitic attacks against incumbent Congressman Randy Fine (R-Fla.) during the lead-up to Florida’s primary election, House Speaker Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) took to social media to affirm his support for his Floridian colleague and condemn the hate crimes.
“The vile attack ads against Congressman Randy Fine in Florida’s 6th District are disgusting and should be condemned by all political leaders on the Right and Left,” Speaker Johnson wrote. “Antisemitism and outward hatred of Jewish communities have no place in our politics or in America, and we will continue to call them out wherever they arise.”
Speaker Johnson concluded his post by announcing his endorsement for Rep. Fine’s reelection bid.
Congressman Fine expressed his gratitude for Speaker Johnson’s endorsement and support, affirming that he “will defeat this evil” in the upcoming election.
String of Antisemitic Attacks Against Congressman Fine
Amid his efforts to hold his congressional seat, Rep. Fine has faced multiple antisemitic attacks in the week leading up to the Republican primary.
One attack took place in Flagler Beach, in which one of the Jewish-born representative’s political yard signs was defaced with a spray-painted swastika symbol at an early voting location.
Just a couple of days later, Dan Bilzerian, one of Congressman Fine’s challengers in the primary for Florida’s 6th District (FL CD 6), posted an AI-generated video stating that “fat Jew Randy needs tar and feather.”
Additionally, Bilzerian has been in the spotlight for allegedly working with Lake County Commissioner Anthony Sabatini to interfere with Rep. Fine’s re-election effort by using foreign funds under an unregistered political organization to issue campaign ads, text messages, and direct-mail pieces.
Bilzerian Fires Back Calling Johnson A "Traitor"
In response to Speaker Johnson’s endorsement post, Bilzerian fired back at the Louisiana Representative, calling Johnson a “traitor” of America.
“Good, add another piece of s**t traitor to the list of bought politicians coming out in defense of Israel first, America last Fine,” Bilzerian wrote.
