Rep. Randy Fine (R-Fla.) posted a shocking image containing an antisemitic hate crime against the incumbent Representative.
Amid early voting for Florida’s primary elections, Rep. Fine posted an image of one of his campaign’s yard signs defaced with a spray-painted swastika symbol.
The vandalized yard sign was found at the Wickline Senior Center Early Voting location in Flagler Beach and sent to Rep. Fine by the Supervisor of Elections in Flagler County.
“When Nazis run against you, this is what happens,” the Jewish-born Congressman wrote. “We need to all stand together and defeat them.”
Rise in Antisemitism
The rise of antisemitism has become a prevalent issue nationwide; It has become a key issue among several lawmakers in Florida given that the Sunshine State is recognized as having the second-largest Jewish population in the U.S., with roughly 760,000 to 800,000 residents, according to Jewish Virtual Library.
In May 2026, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) reported 6,274 incidents of antisemitic assault, harassment, and vandalism with deadly weapons in 2025, making it an average of 17 incidents a day.
2025 ranked as the third-highest year for incidents since the ADL began tracking antisemitic incidents in 1979.
Both 2023 and 2024 are ranked above 2025, as the three consecutive years following the Hamas massacre on October 7, 2023, are deemed considerably higher than the total number of incidents before the attack.
Florida Lawmakers Condemning Antisemitism
During Florida’s 7th Congressional District Republican Primary Debate, Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.) and challengers Ryan Elijah, Sarah Ulrich, and Michael Johnson condemned the notion.
Rep. Mills and Elijah affirmed that individuals should not conflate Israel’s government and funding concerns with the Jewish population as a whole.
Ulrich and Johnson disclosed their disdain for hate towards small groups of individuals, calling for an end to bigotry and intolerance.
Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar (R-Fla.) – a member of the Bipartisan Task Force to Combat Antisemitism – has also emphasized solidarity with the Jewish Community, asserting that antisemitism has no place in the U.S.
