Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) is calling for an investigation into the white nationalist group known as "Patriot Front" in a recent social media post.
What is Patriot Front?
Patriot Front is an apparent white nationalist group that is known for marching in matching navy blue shirts, khaki pants, and face coverings while carrying American, Confederate, and fascistic flags.
The group rose to prominence again during the Independence Day celebrations in Washington, D.C., where they demonstrated in the city, notably being filmed on the D.C. Metro.
However, podcaster Joe Rogan and Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) have both alleged that the Patriot Front is made up of undercover federal agents, citing their uniformity, with the latter joking that the group would disband shortly after the confirmation of FBI Director Kash Patel.
Luna's Call for Investigation
Despite the group's continued existence and recent march in Washington, Rep. Luna remains skeptical, writing in a post to X (formerly Twitter), "What I find odd about Patriot Front is how under Biden they were never investigated. Well funded. Never investigated. FBI under Biden looked into Catholics instead. So, looks like @GOPoversight should do some digging."
Rep. Luna is referring to the scandal under FBI Director Christopher Wray in which Catholic organizations were monitored as "extremists," which numerous Republicans ferociously criticized after the discovery.
A Precedent?
The Florida congresswoman previously shared a spreadsheet in October which allegedly showed how numerous leftwing organizations funded the "No Kings" protests held throughout the United States, with alleged benefactors including the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Indivisible, Planned Parenthood, businessman and philanthropist George Soros and his Tides Foundation, Berkshire Hathaway Chair Warren Buffett, and what appears to be the Rockefeller Center.
More recently, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) came under fire for alleged fraud, where they paid leading members of hate groups such as the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) and other white supremacist groups to foment racism, which the Law Center disputes by saying they were sending in paid informants, and then laundering the money.
