President Donald Trump praised Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, calling him one of the best attorney generals in the country while once again backing him in his election bid for a full four-year term.

"One of the absolutely best Attorney Generals in the Country is James Uthmeier of the Great State of Florida," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. "He stands for everything MAGA - Strong on Crime and Borders, protecting our always under siege Second Amendment, Military and Vets, Low Inflation and Low Taxes, and so much more! As always, James Uthmeier has my Complete and Total Endorsement. He will never let you down!!!"

President Trump initially backed Uthmeier for attorney general last October. Uthmeier has been on the job since being appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in January 2025.

Attorney General Uthmeier has led on several initiatives during his tenure including the arrest of 2,000 child predators during an announcement in August. Uthmeier has also secured nearly 700 years prison sentences for crimes against children during that time.

In addition, Attorney General Uthmeier has arrested several individuals for human trafficking, trafficking fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, Medicaid fraud, organized retail theft and racketeering, and an illegal alien for battery against a law enforcement officer.

Uthmeier replied to President Trump's post on social media.

"Thank you, Mr. President!" Uthmeier wrote.

Uthmeier, 38, took over as attorney general after Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Ashley Moody to the U.S. Senate in January 2025. Uthmeier previously served as chief of staff to DeSantis from 2021 to 2025.

Alongside serving as attorney general, Uthmeier worked as a part-time adjunct professor at the University of Florida (UF) with a lucrative $100,000 pay this year. Uthmeier graduated with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from UF in 2010 and 2011, respectively.

Uthmeier is competing against Democratic candidate Jose Javier Rodriguez for attorney general. Rodriguez announced his run for the position last June.

The general election is Nov. 3.
