Amid House GOP hard-liners' attempts to jam the House Chamber over the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE America Act), President Donald Trump urged House Republicans to end their retaliatory blockade of procedural votes that could put other major bills at risk.

“House Republicans should unify, and stop voting down ‘Rules’ or, threatening to do so," President Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The president warned that doing so would give “Radical Left Dumocrats” the upper hand on determining “what goes up for a Vote” and “make outcomes worse.”

No more grandstanding, please! They are the Dumocrats, and we can’t let them WIN! President Trump asserted.

Anna Paulina Luna Leads House Rebellion

President Trump’s statement comes after Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), alongside a group of allied House GOP members, initiated a blockade of procedural votes – or “Rules” as President Trump wrote – on major-GOP-written bills in the House chamber, vowing to vote down on them until the Senate passes the SAVE Act.

Trying to find an off-ramp hastily, House Speaker Rep. Mike Johnson met with President Trump to circumvent the impasse led by Congresswoman Luna, leading to the Commander-in-Chief’s call to action.

“It’s not my job to play trust games with the Senate when they’ve actively betrayed our trust multiple times,” Luna said in an interview over the matter.

“Plus, the president’s on my side,” Rep. Luna affirmed, doubling down on her stance.

Luna Matches Trump's Energy

The Florida Congresswoman reaffirmed her stance despite President Trump’s wishes, demanding that the SAVE America Act be attached to the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2027.

Rep. Luna’s floor rebellion comes after House GOP leaders passed the 21st Century Road to Housing Act, disregarding the Congresswoman’s threats to freeze the chamber.

Following the bill’s approval, however, President Trump abruptly canceled the legislation’s signing ceremony, threatening to hold off on his signature until the SAVE America Act was passed.
