Representative Aaron Bean (R-FL) has released the official platform of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Caucus, a pledge and plan of action to reduce government waste, fraud, and abuse.

The platform comprises eight principles the Caucus members agreed upon, beginning with the preamble: "The federal government must be downsized. It is too large, costly, controlling, ineffective, inefficient, and unaccountable."

Therefore, the DOGE Caucus agrees on the eight principles:

  • The federal government must serve the interests of taxpayers, and taxpayers are best served by a lean, efficient, transparent, and accountable bureaucracy.
  • No amount of waste, fraud, abuse, duplication, or administrative bloat is too small or too large to fix.
  • The national debt is a threat to our nation's economic strength. Members of the Congressional DOGE caucus are dedicated to finding ways to cut spending, not increase it.
  • There are too many federal agencies, programs, rules, and regulations that hinder economic growth for the future.
  • Government agencies, programs, rules, regulations, and employees must demonstrate effectiveness for and responsiveness to taxpayers while also not creating unnecessary costs or burdens.
  • Existing federal agencies, programs, rules, regulations, or functions that do not provide value to taxpayers must be reformed or eliminated.
  • All rules and regulations should be grounded in statute. Congress enacts public policy, not unelected bureaucrats.
  • Engaging with the American people is necessary to ensure our success.

In his press release, Rep. Bean said, "We've articulated our vision in a transparent manner that is both concise and consumable for every American. "

He pointed to the massive $36 trillion national debt and added, "The stakes of inaction are too high."

"Our Congressional DOGE Caucus Platform is a common-sense roadmap that will undo the devasting damage of Crazy Town's reckless spending addiction and Make America Efficient Again. At this critical moment in our nation's history, I look forward to delivering institutional change to better serve the American public," Rep. Bean concluded.

In early December, the Florida Congressman spoke with The Floridian about where the DOGE Caucus would begin its reformation process, telling us, "There is no wrong answer on where to start, where to begin, what to cut. Certainly, I am a fan of low-hanging fruit, but we have to recognize that in over 25 years, there has not been not only a balanced budget but there has not been any budget."
