Three days after President-elect Donald Trump urged and endorsed State Senator Randy Fine (R) to run for Florida's 6th Congressional seat, Senator Fine went on the Fox & Friends morning show and announced that he would run for Congress to replace Rep. Michael Waltz (R), who was appointed to serve as National Security Advisor.

Fine, who won his state Senate seat in a landslide earlier this month, said Tuesday morning that he will be the best "fighter" to help Donald Trump in Congress.

"[Trump] needs fighters who will Make America Wealthy Again, Make American Safe Again, and someone who will stand up for Israel," Fine posted to social media minutes after his TV news appearance. "That is why today I’m announcing my candidacy for FL 6th Congressional District."

The Floridian first reported that Senator Fine would only run for the open congressional seat if he received the highly-coveted Trump endorsement.

In one of his posts on Truth Social, President Trump made it very clear that he wanted Fine to run for Rep. Waltz’s seat, and if he did decide to run for Congress, Fine would have his “Complete and Total Endorsement.”

"President Trump has made clear, even as recently as last night, that the fight to protect America's Jews is a top priority. Given my success passing more antisemitism bills than anyone in America, I'd be honored to lead that charge," said Rep. Fine in a statement to The Floridian.

The primary road for Fine has been all but completely cleared. Trump's Election Night mandate and now endorsement of Fine will prevent any potential level-headed congressional contender from entering the race.

During the 2024 Republican Presidential Primary cycle, Fine, like many other state lawmakers, was pressed to endorse Governor Ron DeSantis for President but later rescinded that endorsement and backed Trump.

Months later, after the horrific October 7 Hamas terrorist attack that left more than 1,400 Israelis, Americans, and other foreign nationals dead in Israel, Fine spent several weeks in Israel with his family and gave comfort and aid to both Israeli civilians and military personnel.
