Defamation Bill Dead on Arrival?

The controversial and anti-First Amendment defamation bill that Sen. Jason Brodeur and Rep. Alex Andrade have put forth could be scrapped this legislative session.

It appears as if Senate President Kathleen Passidomo will not let a floor vote on the bill, which would mean that the measure is dead.

This is a terrible bill.

Social Media Ban Madness

The Florida Legislature has sent the Social Media ban for minors bill to Gov. Ron DeSantis for signage, but it appears that a veto awaits the measure.

Could Gov. DeSantis sign the bill as is even if he does not support it?

Could Speaker Renner use the Governor's budget as leverage to get the social media bill signed?

Debbie Wasserman Schultz-Quick reminder: Republicans won’t vote for access to birth control OR protect your abortion rights.

It's ignorant and cruel.

Rep. Darren Soto-I’m in Tallahassee meeting w/ leaders about how the Infrastructure Law, CHIPS Act, IRA & PACT Act are helping jobs, infrastructure, the environment, healthcare & veterans in FL.

Lauren Book-I am grateful our concerns were heard. “Fetal personhood” — legally designating a fetus as a person with rights, including the right to life from the moment of conception — diminishes the rights of women and mothers, opening the door for further restriction on abortion and reproductive medicines like IVF. Thankfully, it appears personhood will not be the law of the land in our state.
