The calls for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict have returned even in the wake of the October 7th terrorist attack that saw 1,200 Israelis murdered and hundreds more dead in the ongoing conflict. Representative Mike Waltz (R-FL) dismissed the resurrected proposal in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Varney & Co., saying, "We have to allow Israel to destroy Hamas."

Rep. Waltz posted the clip containing his remarks on X (formerly Twitter), where he added, "We have to allow Israel to destroy Hamas or their terrorist attacks will continue for years to come. The Biden Admin needs to stop playing politics by trying to force Israel into a 'temporary' ceasefire through the UN."

Additionally, Rep. Waltz cited the group's own words in its desire to not only repeat the October 7th attack but eradicate Israel.

"If Hamas survives, all of this is going to repeat itself years from now, and Hamas itself said it needs to survive to do another October 7th. Hamas does not want a two-state solution. Hamas wants a one-state solution, which is Hamas ruling from the river to the sea as a terrorist caliphate," said Waltz.

Moreover, the Florida Congressman accused the Biden Administration and the United Nations of attempting to "cram a ceasefire down [Israel's] throat," even as members of the UN's Relief and Works Agency (RWA) were found to be supporting the terror organization's war effort.

"It is a horrific situation, but at the end of the day, it will never stop unless Hamas is destroyed," Waltz concluded.

Other Florida Republicans have said before that peace between Israel and Palestine is only possible with the destruction of the jihadists, such as Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL).

"I’ve come to the conclusion there’s only one way here that we’re going to get peace in Israel and Israeli is going to live in peace as far as Hamas is concerned, that’s with the utter destruction of Hamas. And they have to be laser-focused on that mission: they have to destroy Hamas," Rep. Gimenez said in November.

Similarly, Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) blasted Senate Democrats for attempting to place "conditions" on Israeli aid the week after, calling the proposal "unacceptable and un-American," and further adding, "Enough is enough—no further conditions on Israel's aid until Hamas is destroyed."
