Replacing Biden on the ballot won’t make America safer, only Trump can do that

With the Special Counsel’s declaration that President Joe Biden is “an elderly man with a poor memory,” Americans are rightly concerned about our country’s national security.  If the American people can see Joe Biden’s dementia, so too can foreign leaders who have repeatedly taken advantage of the Biden Administration’s weakness over the last three years.  As a result, this month, calls to replace Biden on the ballot have increased, but this chorus misses the point: replacing Biden won’t make America any safer because the other Democrats that could replace him all share the same America Last foreign policy positions as the Biden Administration.  Only President Trump can restore America First strength in the White House.

The first and most obvious example of this fact is Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan.  I lost two legs fighting against terrorists and for American freedom in Afghanistan.  Many men and women lost far more or paid the ultimate sacrifice.  Evidence over the last several years has proven that Biden’s hasty withdraw was based far more on domestic politics than military strategy, yet leading Democrats across the country cheered him on during the withdrawal.  Senator Tim Kaine, the Democrat’s 2016 vice presidential nominee, praised the decision.  Former Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders also applauded the withdrawal, calling it “brave and right.”  Replacing Biden with another Democrat in the White House would not have stopped this disaster.

Biden’s weakness in Afghanistan almost immediately empowered Vladimir Putin to attack Ukraine because he knew the Biden Administration did not have the strength to stop him.  Almost like clockwork, 30 Members of the Democrat party—led by Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal—released a statement in support of resolving the conflict through “vigorous diplomatic efforts.”  You could almost hear Putin laughing at Democrats’ weakness on the global stage.  Replacing Biden with another Democrat in the White House would not have stopped Putin’s attack.

The story is the same when it comes to Chinese aggression.  When China flew a spy balloon over our country, the Biden Administration allowed China to spy on us for eight days before finally shooting down the balloon.  In response, Vice President Kamala Harris—the most likely candidate to replace Biden on the ballot—stated that nothing needed to change in U.S.-China diplomatic relations as a result.  Replacing Biden with another Democrat in the White House would not have stopped China’s aggression.

Most recently, Biden’s weakness has not only empowered Hamas to attack our ally Israel, but through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), Biden has sent hundreds of millions in U.S. taxpayer dollars to an agency that has directly aided Hamas.  When the House Foreign Affairs Committee voted on legislation I’m leading with Representative Chris Smith (R-NJ) to defund UNRWA, all but three of the Democrats on the committee voted against the bill.  The most senior Democrat on the Foreign Affairs committee even said that supporting the bill “erodes the United States’ moral authority”—somehow implying that the United States has a moral obligation to fund terrorist attacks against our allies.  Replacing Biden with another Democrat in the White House would not have stopped Hamas or helped Israel.

As each of these foreign policy disasters show, Biden’s time in the White House is directly threatening our national security and the safety of our allies, but replacing him on the ballot with another Democrat won’t eliminate these threats.  America needs strength, and the Democrat party governs through weakness.  To make America safe again, we must re-elect President Donald Trump.
