Miami Mayor Danielle Levine Cava has announced she has Covid for the third time in spite of taking at least two vaccines and three booster shots.
"Miami-Dade mayor has COVID again. A high-profile reminder the virus remains," according to the Miami Herald.
According to the Herald, Cava spokesman Natalia Jaramillo says the Miami-Dade County Mayor "has cold-like symptoms but isn’t seriously ill."
“She feels sick, with cough and congestion,” Jaramillo said, “but well enough to work virtually.”
Cava was a a major proponent of vaccination and posted numerous photos of herself taking a Covid shot, so many it is difficult to say exactly how many she took but the number is at least five.
"It's important that you get your shot," said Cava on November 27, 2022 while receiving one of her many doses. "This is how you protect yourselves, your families, your loved ones."
On October 6, 2021, Cava posted "Just like the first two, the Pfizer booster shot was safe, easy, and free. I got mine to further protect myself and those around me from new, more dangerous variants — and I urge all eligible residents to do the same."

According to the Herald, this is the third time Cava has tested positive for Covid. She posted about testing positive back in February, 2022 after she had taken multiple vaccines and boosters against the virus.
This morning, I took a COVID-19 test as standard protocol after experiencing mild symptoms.
Unfortunately, I tested positive.
I’m grateful that I’m fully vaccinated and boosted. I will be following all CDC guidelines and quarantining at home.

This morning, I got my second COVD-19 booster shot. With cases on the rise, getting vaccinated is the most effective way to protect ourselves - and each other - from serious illness, hospitalization, or worse.
