It's official. Attorney General Ashley Moody (R) has filed for re-election. There is no surprise here, but now all eyes are on Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and his formal announcement that he will also seek reelection.
Also, let's not forget the Agriculture Commissioner post being vacated by AG Commissioner Nikki Fried when she decided to run for governor. Senate President Wilton Simpson (R) is said to be considering the seat.
"I am proud to announce that I will be seeking re-election as Florida’s Attorney General, to continue building a stronger, safer Florida by prosecuting human trafficking, protecting our seniors, and combating opioid abuse. Our state faces many challenges, but also incredible opportunities as we work toward upholding the rule of law, our rights, and our freedoms. I will be campaigning across the great state, asking for Floridians’ continued support and their vote," states Attorney General Ashley Moody.
