The Gold Standard
Republicans around the country are enamored with how Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has comported himself since taking office in 2018, pushing back against the media, the Progressive agenda, critical race theory, going after Big Tech, addressing election integrity in the state, along with a whole bunch of other things. He is arguably the most popular governor in the union, with some even believing that he is the “gold standard” among state executives.

Cuba Libre!
As historic protests against the Communist Cuban regime continue on that island, DeSantis chimed in, as did the other potential presidential candidates from Florida.
“Florida supports the people of Cuba as they take to the streets against the tyrannical regime in Havana. The Cuban dictatorship has repressed the people of Cuba for decades & is now trying to silence those who have the courage to speak out against its disastrous policies,” said DeSantis.
As expected, Sen. Marco Rubio is leading the charge with a play-by-play accounting of the unfolding drama in Cuba.
“Locals take control of local Communist Party office This kind of courage & bravery needs to be shared with the whole world,” tweeted Sen. Rubio.
Sen. Rick Scott—" The courageous people of Cuba took to the streets determined to regain their freedom and demand the end of the dictatorship. @RaulCastro_Ruz & @DiazCanelB the message is clear: The people of Cuba are not afraid, your time is up!
Miami Mayor Francis Suarez— “The Cuban regime’s military police are shooting at unarmed Cuban protestors fighting for freedom. 60 years of communism, cruelty, & oppression cannot last any longer! We are imploring the USA to take action as we peacefully demonstrate on the streets of Miami.”
Marco Rubio @marcorubio-Expect the regime in #Cuba to block internet & cell phone service soon to prevent videos about what is happening to get out to the world.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz @DWStweets-We stand in solidarity w/ thousands of peaceful protestors all over Cuba who are challenging its repressive regime. May their courage and this historic moment bring about real change.
Mario Diaz-Balart @MarioDB-The #Cuban people have taken to the streets demanding freedom. The tyranny will use the fiercest violence to suppress them. It is urgent that USA and the international community offer the maximum solidarity to the Cuban people.
María Elvira Salazar @MaElviraSalazar-I was born & raised in Little Havana — the daughter of Cuban exiles. The people of #Cuba have taken to the streets & my community has done the same in solidarity.. It’s the honor of a LIFETIME to represent all of you in
Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez @RepCarlos-Some radical progressives insist the American flag is offensive. Oh how wrong they are. Never forget that our flag is a symbol of hope, especially to the those who yearn for freedom. Democracy > Communism. Always has been, always will be.
