When the political dust settled after the 2020 presidential election in Florida, it was abundantly clear that Florida Democrats suffered embarrassing and “historic defeats” to Republicans statewide, losing countless local and state elections, as well as two highly-coveted congressional seats in Miami-Dade County.
As the 2020 election concludes, the congressional races across the United States have all but finished, but one state that is documenting returns it did not expect is the sunshine state. These returns are currently being calculated by Florida Democrats who lost two key congressional district after they had turned them blue in the 2018 midterm elections.
Florida Rep. Michael Waltz (R) has rallied support in Congress by leading a letter with members of the Florida congressional delegation that calls for a federal investigation into the Florida Democratic Party’s Paycheck Protection Program application. As well, Rep. Waltz has called for all the documents, including the application, to be made available to the public.

Before President Donald Trump took the stage at his BB&T center rally in Sunrise, Florida, Florida Democrats were out in force to protest the president’s “homecoming” event.
