Florida is ready if Hurricane Dorian makes landfall, but officials are not taking any chances and are continuing to tell Floridians to heed their warnings and prepare for the worst case scenario.

With Hurricane Dorian slamming The Bahamas as a Category 5 storm with winds at 185 mph and gusts up to 220 mph, all hands on deck in Florida for a potential landfall somewhere along the east coast of the state.

Just as scientists and meteorologists forecast  Hurricane Dorian to become a major storm that will probably impact Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis proactively declared a state of emergency to give local authorities ample time to get all of the resources in place.
