As the Coronavirus continues to spread across the U.S. political candidates of every level – municipal, state, federal, have had to revert to using alternative approaches to campaign for office due to the social-distancing mandates and stay-at-home orders.

LaMarca detailed that “there are a multitude of other options that should be in our playbook, from nearby U.S. Naval Ports to seaports in much less populated communities.”

Just as news broke that Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez was going to announce a run for Congress in Florida’s 26th congressional district, Florida Democrats released a scathing video titled “Corrupt Carlos” that accuses the two-term mayor of Miami-Dade of corruption, cronyism, and for being a self-serving career politician.

While there will be several candidates in the race to replace Mayor Carlos Gimenez (R) as the  Miami-Dade County’s mayor, but the race looks like it will boil down to two candidates, current Miami-Dade County Commissioner Esteban “Stevie” Bovo (R) and former County Mayor Alex Penelas (D).
