Two national Democratic organizations have heavily invested in several Florida state and federal races in the 2026 midterm election cycle.

“National Democrats are putting real money behind Florida because they see what we've been building on the ground for the last three years,” Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried said in a press release. “We've flipped 48 seats from red to blue, recruited more than 1,000 candidates, and built an organizing operation that's competing in communities Republicans have taken for granted for far too long."

The Democratic Attorney General Association donated $5 million to support José Javier Rodríguez in the Florida attorney general race. He will face off against incumbent Republican James Uthmeier Nov. 3.

“These investments are proof that the country is paying attention and that Florida is worth fighting for. We have the candidates, the momentum, and the grassroots infrastructure to Take Back Florida. Now we're bringing the resources to match,” the press release.

DAGA President Sean Rankin said Javier Rodríguez has fought to level the playing field for consumers and expanded workforce opportunities.

"Our $5 million investment into Florida is just the start in our support for José Javier Rodríguez to serve as the state’s next attorney general. Rodríguez will put Floridians first by standing up to powerful special interests, rooting out corruption, and enforcing consumer protections," Rankin said in a press release announcing the funding. "As all of Florida’s communities are being hard hit by the rise in the cost of living and suffering as a result of misguided leadership, Rodríguez will put people first and keep Florida safe. DAGA sees a path to victory with Rodríguez and is now a partner in this fight."

Democratic super PAC American Bridge also pumped $2.5 million into  Florida's U.S. Senate race between Republican Ashley Moody and Democrat Angie Nixon. The PAC donated to a number of other Senate races across the country.

"Together, the investments signal growing national attention on Florida, where Democrats are competing to break decades of Republican control and deliver new leadership focused on lowering costs and holding those in power accountable," the Florida Democratic Party press release said.
