Angie Nixon, the Democratic nominee for Florida’s U.S. Senate seat, is receiving on-the-ground support from several Democratic lawmakers ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
Sens. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) recently announced their efforts to help Nixon in Florida.
Sen. Murphy Lands In Florida
“Just landed in Florida to campaign today for Angie Nixon and David Jolly,” Sen. Murphy wrote on X. “And I’m donating and raising $100,000 into the voter turnout operation here.”
“Don’t sleep on Florida!” Sen. Murphy added.
Sen. Gallego Is Headed To Orlando
"Florida has about 1.5 million veterans. I’m joining [Angie Nixon] today to talk about her plan to make sure they get the care they've earned," Sen. Gallego wrote. "See you soon, Orlando!"

Both senators' announcements comes a day after Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) announced his on-the-ground assistance for Nixon’s campaign.
The crises facing our country are too serious for status quo politics and status quo policies.
That’s why we need leaders like Angie Nixon who aren’t afraid to take on the billionaire class and deliver for working families.

Nixon has already received support from other members of Congress, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) (D-N.Y.), who’s part of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) coalition alongside Sen. Sanders and Nixon.
Congressman Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) has also campaigned for Nixon, helping the nominee in South Florida, including participating in a town hall event at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami.
