The recent shooting of left-wing activist Rene Good at the hands of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis has all-but decided the nation, pressing lawmakers, including gubernatorial candidate and Rep. Byron Donalds (R), to take a position on the ongoing crackdown of criminal illegal aliens across the country.
During an interview with The Floridian, Rep. Donalds was asked hypothetically, if he was in the ICE agents shoes, he would have also shot Ms. Good in self-defense.
“Law enforcement has a duty to defend themselves. If I was in that officer’s position, I would have done the same thing," stated Rep. Donalds.
Rep. Donalds contends that anyone, not just law enforcement, has the right to defend themselves against someone who purposefully drives a vehicle at them.
“If somebody drove their car at another human being does that human being have the right to defend them i'm not arguing answer is unequivocally, Yes," Donalds said in a recent appearance on Newsnation.
Donalds recently pushed back against Democratic Progressive Rep. Ilhan Omar's dismissal of the 'self-defense' argument Donalds and the Trump administration have used in response to the shooting.
"I do not know what the hell she is talking about," Rep. Donalds said ."First of all, ICE has a legal mandate from the federal government because deporting illegal aliens is legal in America. President Trump is following the law, unlike President Biden, who was flouting federal immigration law."
Both Bodycam and an independent videos clearly show the ICE agent in question being struck by Good.
An independent autopsy commissioned by the Good family was released, outlining that Good was shot three times.
