Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) highlighted a staggering amount of money that went into the recent "No Kings" protests.
"The 'No Kings' protest was completely organic, don't let anyone tell you otherwise," Rep. Luna sarcastically commented on social media, showing a large spreadsheet with alleged sources of funding.
Numerous organizations allegedly contributed funds to organize the events in various cities across the United States, including the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Indivisible, and Planned Parenthood.
Additionally, the spreadsheet contains several columns with major donors such as businessman and philanthropist George Soros and his Tides Foundation, Berkshire Hathaway Chair Warren Buffett, and what appears to be the Rockefeller Center.
Approximately $294 million was spent on organizing the 'No Kings' protests, which Rep. Luna says demonstrates that it was not a genuine grassroots mobilization against President Donald Trump.
Conservative influencer Rogan O'Handley, better known online as DC Draino, responded to the Florida Congresswoman's post, writing that "more than a quarter BILLION dollars have been donated to the 'No Kings' NGOs."
"How much do you think went to the paid protestors, fancy signs, and audio equipment? $50 million? $100 million?" O'Handley further questioned. "They should be honest about how much they paid for this failed protest. If it was $100M and only ~1 million showed up, that's $100 spent per person. If each event was 2 hours long, that's a $50/hr job! Not bad for a Marxist movement."
Ahead of the protests, Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) similarly denounced the funding, noting that the protests were backed "by multiple communist groups, including the Communist Party of the USA." "This is who [Chuck Schumer] is cowering to & shutting down your federal government to appease," he added, calling the effort "disgusting."
