On October 18th, protestors are expected to take to the street across the country in support of "No Kings Day," pushing back against the Trump Administration. As Democrats share their support, Republicans like Florida Senator Rick Scott are denouncing the protest and criticizing leadership like Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for their support.

Sen. Scott claims that the protest, set to be held in New York, is a vessel for Communist propaganda and that Schumer is "endorsing" Communism in the U.S.

“The 'No Kings' protest in NYC this weekend is sponsored by multiple communist groups, including the Communist Party of the USA," Scott shared in a post on X. "This is who [Chuck Schumer] is cowering to & shutting down your federal government to appease. It’s disgusting & if Chuck Schumer attends this protest, it will be his full endorsement of communism in America.”

Scott’s post came in response to a post made by Schumer where he called on Americans to stand up in opposition to President Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

“This No Kings Day: Don't be afraid to exercise your right to free speech. Don't let Donald Trump or Republicans intimidate you into silence. Be proud that you are standing up for our democracy.” Schumer wrote.

Florida’s Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins also bashed Schumer saying, “do your job and stop playing games.” The lieutenant governor further shared that “No Kings Day” is on July 4th, implying that Schumer is ignoring Independence Day.

“Hey [Senator Schumer] 'No Kings' day is July 4th! Why do the Democrats care more about illegals than American Citizens?  Also, why are all of your sponsors socialists  and communists Comrade??! Do your job and stop playing games,” Collins shared on social media.

Florida Congressman Jimmy Patronis (R) urged protestors to stay informed and avoid high risk areas and to not engage with any persons who are only aiming to create chaos.
