WASHINGTON – Florida Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D) praised Israel and President Donald Trump on the U.S. and Israel’s airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities during an interview with The Floridian.

Rep. Moskowitz said the decision to strike was driven by Iran’s growing nuclear threat and regional destabilization efforts. He called the joint operation a direct consequence of the October 7 attack on Israel, describing it as a turning point in the Middle East.

“The attack on October 7th will now lead to fundamental change in the region, but in Israel's direction, not the other way. And so, yeah, but I think Israel got it right and the president got it correct. On taking out the nuclear facilities,” he said.

Rep. Moskowitz argued that the bipartisan agreement between Democratic and Republican presidents is “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. It's been the policy. Okay, and we've delayed that process for as long as we can, on a bipartisan basis.”

He also asserted that Iran’s nuclear program had been enriching uranium past 60% “which is well beyond what you need for a civil nuclear program.”

Moskowitz also explained how the airstrikes on Iranian soil have been able to foster a ceasefire and can potentially bring Tehran to the negotiating table regarding its nuclear disarmament, ensuring peace in the Middle East.

“These strikes have happened. We're at a ceasefire. Now what? Can we get Iran to the table? Can we get them to be a country and not a cause? You do that, you stabilize the Middle East,” he stated.

Moskowitz finished the interview with a hopeful outlook for the future of the political atmosphere in the Middle East if the Abraham Accords were to be expanded upon

“You fundamentally changed [The Middle East], and now you have a whole different dynamic. Now you have this expansion of the Abraham Accords, and you can solve the war in Gaza. And so this to me is all related. But it wasn't going to happen so long as Iran was out there destabilizing the Middle East," he said. “They were causing problems in Iraq; they caused problems in Jordan. I mean, they've killed thousands of people, hundreds of Americans. You know, they funded terrorism all over the world. America is safer today than they were before both Israel and America did the strikes.”
