Belinda Keiser, Vice Chancellor of Keiser University, announced her candidacy for Congressional District 22 through a press release shared this week.

CD 22 includes all of Hendry County and parts of Collier, Palm Beach, and Broward in southern Florida.

"I'm proud to launch my campaign today and ask for my community's support, because I believe the people of Florida's 22nd Congressional District deserve a conservative fighter who will stand up for American values and put American first," Keiser said. "For more than 36 years, District 22 has been my home, and I understand the challenges families and business are facing every day. I have spent four decades helping create what it takes to grow jobs, support the business community, and help working families thrive."

Keiser has served as Vice Chancellor of Keiser University for three decades. A Florida-based, not-for-profit university, Keiser has 18 campuses across Florida with more than 18,000 students and roughly 4,000 employees.

The school has also generated almost $6 billion in economic impact to Florida and nearly 45,000 jobs.

Notably, Keiser has political experience, having unsuccessfully ran against Sen. Gayle Harrell in the Republican Senate District 25 primary in 2018. Among her other titles, Keiser served as a Women for Trump Advisory Board member and an Asian Americans for Trump Advisory Board member in 2020, as well as a senior advisor for Asian American and Pacific Islanders for Trump in 2024.

Keiser officially filed her run for CD 22 earlier this month.

"As the daughter of a U.S. Air Force veteran and a mother who survived World War II, I also have a deep appreciation for the freedoms and opportunities that make America expectational," Keiser continued. "In Congress, I will fight alongside President Trump to lower cost for families, support our law enforcement officers and first responders, stand with our military, protect our constitutional freedoms, expand economic opportunity, create more jobs, and preserve the American dream."

Keiser enters a crowded Republican field in CD 22, which includes Collier businessman and Trump ally Casey Askar, Michael Carbonara, David Burck, Deborah Adeimy and Herbert Wertheim. Pia Dandiya and Ian Blake are on the Democratic ticket.

The primary is Aug. 18, 2026, with the general election on Nov. 3.
