U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody (R-FL) shared that she has received an endorsement from Florida Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson for a full term in the U.S. Senate.
"Hailing from the Strawberry Capital of the world, Senator Ashley Moody has a unique understanding of the families who grow our food, and has been a tremendous advocate for Florida's farmers," Simpson said. "From Plant City, Tallahassee, to our nation's capital, Senator Moody has fought to protect our children, defend the rule of law and to preserve the freedoms we value here in Florida and across the country."
"I am proud to endorse Ashley Moody for the United States Senate because I know she will continue to put Florida first," Simpson added.
Commissioner Simpson's endorsement comes after Sen. Moody endorsed him in his re-election campaign for commissioner earlier this month.
Sen. Moody thanked Commissioner Simpson for the endorsement.
"I’m grateful for the support of Florida’s incredible Agriculture Commissioner @WiltonSimpson," Moody wrote. "We’re two fifth generation Floridians fighting every day to keep the Sunshine State strong."
Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Sen. Moody to the Senate in January 2025. Moody is looking to fill the final two years of Marco Rubio's term, who left to become Secretary of State under the second Trump administration.
President Donald Trump, U.S. Sens. Rick Scott (R-FL) and Ted Cruz (R-TX), and Florida Congressional Reps. Jimmy Patronis, Neal Dunn, Kat Cammack, Brian Mast, Daniel Webster, Scott Franklin, Gus Bilirakis, Laurel Lee, Mario Diaz-Balart, and more have also endorsed Moody in her race.
In addition, Moody has been endorsed by the Associated Industries of Florida, over 60 Florida sheriffs, and the Florida Police Benevolent Association.
Chris Gleason, Neelam Perry, and Ernie Rivera are challenging Moody in the Republican primary set for Aug. 18, 2026. Former National Security Council aide Alexander Vindman and Rep. Angie Nixon (D-Jacksonville) are challenging Moody on the Democratic ticket.
The U.S. Senate special election is on Nov. 3, 2026.
