Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Blaise Ingoglia announced on social media that he has been endorsed for a full term in his current position by every previous Republican CFO in Florida's history.

The CFO's are Tom Gallagher (2003-2007), Jeff Atwater (2011-2017), and Jimmy Patronis (2017-2025), who currently represents Florida's 1st congressional district. Democrat Alex Sink is the only non-Republican to hold the position, doing so from 2007 to 2011.

Florida's CFO position was established in 2003.

"I am honored to have earned the endorsement of EVERY Republican CFO in Florida’s history," Ingoglia wrote this week. "Their steady leadership over the years has made our state a national model for economic opportunity. Thank you @JimmyPatronis, Jeff Atwater and Tom Gallagher for your support!"

Ingoglia, appointed CFO by Gov. Ron DeSantis in July 2025, is responsible for overseeing the state's finances, including audits of local governments to identify wasteful spending.

Since assuming the role, Ingoglia has uncovered over two billion in wasteful spending from counties and municipalities across the state, including $278 million in Hillsborough County, $199 million in Orange County, and $189 million in Broward County.

As CFO, Ingoglia also serves as Florida's Fire Marshal.

Gov. DeSantis endorsed Ingoglia for a full term as CFO in December 2025. U.S. Reps. Aaron Bean (R-FL), Brian Mast (R-FL), and Kat Cammack (R-FL) also endorsed Ingoglia for the position this month.

In addition, Ingoglia has been endorsed by the Republican Party of Florida, more than 70 state lawmakers, 60 Florida sheriffs, American Grit PAC, Associated Industries of Florida, and the National Association of Police Organizations in his bid.

Before becoming CFO, Ingoglia served in the Florida Senate from 2022 to 2025, the Florida House of Representatives from 2014 to 2022, and as chairman of the Florida Republican Party from 2015 to 2019.

With his predecessor's support, Ingoglia is likely the clear favorite to win November's CFO election. Other candidates, including "Shark Tank" entrepreneur John Smith, have been largely inactive in the race, while his main competitor, Rep. Kevin Steele (R-Dade City), dropped out in February.

The CFO election is on Nov. 3, 2026.
