With the primaries over, Republican House District 74 nominee Nick Pachota is consolidating support, with endorsements from politicians and organizations pouring in.
Since winning his four-way primary against Kelly Ann Walker, Jennifer Winkler, and Carlton Nichols, Pachota has earned endorsements from the entire Sarasota legislative delegation: term-limited Senator Joe Gruters, Representative Fiona McFarland, Representative Danny Nix, and Representative James Buchanan, who endorsed Pachota earlier in the primary campaign season.
Pachota is also adding support from some of Florida's federal representatives. Representative Greg Steube (R-FL), who previously supported Walker, threw his support behind Pachota.
Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) endorsed Pachota in a social media post, writing, "From his work as a first responder, his conservative track record as Mayor of Venice, and his experience creating jobs as a small business owner, I know that Floridians across House District 74 and our great state will benefit from Nick's service in the State House."
These endorsements, coupled with earlier support from Sarasota County Sheriff Kurt Hoffman, the Suncoast Professional Firefighters and Paramedics, Police Benevolent Association, Fraternal Order of Police, International Union of Police Associations, Florida Realtors, Florida Medical Association PAC, and Sarasota Medical PAC (SAMPAC), point to Pachota's broad and growing base of support as he focuses on the November General Election against Ryan Neill.
House District 74 covers most of inland Sarasota County, including pockets of the City of Sarasota, unincorporated Sarasota County, Venice, and North Port.
This seat is considered safe for Republicans. Buchanan won his most recent general election in 2024 with nearly 65% of the vote against Democrat Nancy Simpson.
