The Latino Victory Fund announced its endorsement of Democratic candidate Gloria Romero Roses for Florida House District 113 through a release this week.

“People are tired of the MAGA Republicans’ broken economy, health care crisis and rising prices,” Latino Victory Fund President and CEO Katharine Pichardo said. “Gloria’s running to lower costs, expand affordable housing and healthcare access—she will stand up for Miami’s working people and hard-working families."

"She’s a small business owner and a lifelong community builder who’s committed to strengthening our economy, community safety and quality of life. Latino Victory is proud to support Gloria in this key state House race, and look forward to seeing her flip this seat to increase Democratic and Latino representation in the Florida State Legislature," Pihardo added.

Latino Victory Fund is a progressive PAC dedicated to boosting Latino civic engagement and representation in government. The organization has elected 200 Latino leaders across the country since its founding in 2014.

HD 113, located in Miami-Dade County to include all of Key Biscayne and parts of Coral Gables and Miami, is currently vacant after Republican Vicki Lopez left the seat in November 2025 to accept an appointment to the Miami-Dade Commission.

Gov. Ron DeSantis has yet to call a special election to fill the role months later.

“Since 2014 Latino Victory has built political power with the Latino community by empowering our community’s resilience,” Romero Roses said. “I am proud to have earned their endorsement by being relentless in my focus on solving problems for everyday Miamians to be safe, healthy and prosperous, without the extremes and the chaos."

"Miami is at a crossroads: the people who love this community, who have built this community are being priced out and pushed out," Romero Roses added. "It’s wrong and we will do better: we can accelerate affordable housing construction, we can hold insurance companies accountable for cheating Floridians, and we can bridge the gaps in the care economy for early childhood and our elders because how we care for our kids and our elders says everything about who we are."

Justin Mendoza Routt is the other Democrat in the race. Bruno Barreiro, Tony Diaz, and Frank Lago are running on the Republican ticket.

Lopez won HD 113 by over nine points in 2024.
