WASHINGTON—Shortly after speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill, Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke exclusively with The Floridian Publisher Javier Manjarres before entering a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) with Senators to discuss military operations against the Islamic Republican of Iran.

Secretary Rubio was asked about his thoughts about how Congressional Democrats appear to favor Iran while condemned the Trump administration's efforts to neutralize the threats the Iranian regime poses to the US, Israel, and its allies.

Secretary Rubio reiterated his and President Donald Trump's argument that the Islamic Republic of Iran had American blood on its hands.

Manjarres: Secretary…what do you make about the Democrats going after how you are going after the Iranians? Is it fair to say that this is an illegal war? I mean, they’re sounding like they’re in support of the Iranian regime.

Secretary Rubio: Well, we’ve complied with the laws, so I don’t know what they mean by illegal war. We’re going after a terrorist regime who has killed and maimed Americans for 47 years, terrorized their neighbors, and wants to build a nuclear weapon. And we’re doing what needs to be done now to make sure that that could never happen,” Secretary Rubio replied.

When asked about President Trump going full board and attempting to get rid of the entire regime, Secretary Rubio clarified that “we have very clearly defined objectives.”

“We’re going to destroy their missiles, we’re going to destroy their missile launchers, we’re going to destroy their missile factories, we’re going to destroy their Navy, and when we’re done with those objectives, the mission will be complete,” Secretary Rubio affirmed.

Moments before, Rubio told reporters that the he believed the regime in Iran is "willing to slaughter their own people in the streets."

"This terroristic, radical, cleric-led regime, cannot be ever allowed to have nuclear weapons. We saw what they were willing to do to their own people. They are willing to slaughter their own people in the streets. Image what they would do to us," said Rubio.

Despite the overwhelming military firepower that the US military has decimated the Iranian armed forces with, and the fact that China and Russia have stayed quiet over the demise of their ally in the regime,  Sen. Ruben Gallego (D) asserted that the U.S. was no longer a super power.

"I mean, I guess we’re not a world power anymore," Gallego told MS NOW host Chris Hayes. "I was in some pretty hard times during the war at a very young age. And it just drove me mad."
