Representative Randy Fine (R-FL) warned of the nature of Sharia law, the traditional form of Islamic legal theory, in recent comments to The Floridian, saying that it is about "conquest, not assimilation."
Rep. Fine is a member of the recently formed Sharia-Free America Caucus, founded by Representative Chip Roy (R-TX), which seeks to prevent Sharia from influencing American politics.
"They want to govern under Sharia law. Muslim only, no infidels. We do not want that," Rep. Fine said bluntly, adding, "No more 3:30 in the morning calls to prayer, which is really a domination statement; no more statements like the mayor of Dearborn telling Christians they are no longer welcome in the city."
The Florida congressman was referring to a September incident in which Dearborn, Michigan, Mayor Abdullah Hammoud told Christian minister Ted Barham that he was "not welcome" in the city after Barham protested the renaming of a street in honor of journalist Osama Siblani.
Siblani had previously spoken positively of Hamas and Hezbollah, which was why Barham objected. Notably, Hammoud refused to apologize after telling Barham he was "not welcome" in Dearborn.
Fine pointed to this incident as an example of how "this is a goal to conquer, not to integrate, and so we have got to nip it in the bud, otherwise we will end up like the United Islamic Kingdom or France-istan," derisively referring to the apparent Islamification of Europe due to permissive immigration policies.
Moreover, he suggested that Islam seeks to gain influence in initially subtle ways, such as demanding schools "change their menus in order to accommodate Muslims," which Fine says is not something Jewish people do, as "I do not expect schools to keep kosher because a small percentage of the students happen to be."
Finally, Fine reiterated the concept of taqiyya, which he describes as, "it is acceptable to lie in order to conquer, and I think that is what you see from people like [Representative Ilhan] Omar (D-MN) and [Representative Rashida] Tlaib (D-MN).
