The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced the arrest of an Ohio man for threatening to kill Congressman Randy Fine (R-Fla.) and his family.
According to the criminal complaint, 26-year-old Alex Justin Miller of Columbus, Ohio, was charged with interstate transmission of a threat to injure after sending Rep. Fine a threat to kill via e-mail.
Miller Threatened To Burn Fine's Home and Kill Him & His Family
In the subject of the email, Miller allegedly wrote, “Can’t wait to snipe your head off of your shoulders!! :).”
Miller proceeded to express excitement to travel to Rep. Fine’s “lovely home and light the whole place on fire and murder you and your entire family in the middle of the night while you sleep.”
“I will NEVER stop until your head is hanging from the rooftops of the White House,” Miller wrote to the Brevard County Republican, hoping to instill paranoia in him.
The suspect also called for President Donald Trump’s death in the email.

Rep. Fine Affirms He's Not Scared Of Threats; Condemns Political Violence
Congressman Fine responded to the DOJ’s announcement, expressing gratitude for the role of federal and local law enforcement in apprehending Miller. Rep. Fine also affirmed that threats to him will not instill fear in him.
“There are three people who have been arrested and prosecuted for making death threats against me in the past 10 years… There are now four,” Rep. Fine wrote on X. “If they think this will make me afraid, they are wrong.”
Putting aside political polarity, Rep. Fine asserted that regardless of side, political violence is unacceptable.
“There is no place in our political system for this. And those who make these threats – whether to a Republican or Democrat – will go to prison for a very long time,” Rep Fine wrote.
This recent threat comes after Congressman Fine endured a series of antisemitic attacks from Congressional challenger Dan Bilzerian during Florida’s Primary Election and a defaced campaign yard sign containing a graffitied swastika.
