The Republican Party of Florida criticized Democrat Jennifer Jenkins after she dropped out of the U.S. Senate race to run for Congress this week. Jenkins, whom the GOP referred to as "jumpin," withdrew in favor of Alexander Vindman to run against U.S. Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) in Florida’s 6th congressional district.
"After getting chased out of the U.S. Senate primary by Lt. Col. Insubordinate Vindman, a carpetbagger who treats Florida like a political timeshare, Jenkins didn’t fight back," the GOP wrote. "She folded, endorsed the chaos, and immediately went hunting for her next taxpayer-funded title."
Jenkins, a former Brevard County School Board member, had been in the Senate race since September 2025. That apparently changed once Vindman, the former National Security Council aide who played a critical role in President Donald Trump's first impeachment, jumped into the race late last month.
Vindan also reportedly raised $1.7 million on the first day of his campaign, which may have swayed Jenkins' thinking.
Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power slammed Jenkins for the switch-up.
"With losses on the school board, a statewide collapse, and a habit of latching onto radicals and fake Floridians, Jumpin’ Jenkins is now trying to reboot her failed career by challenging Congressman Randy Fine, someone who actually fights for Floridians," Power said.
Rep. Fine has been in Congress since April 2025. He previously served in the Florida Senate from 2024 to 2025 and the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2024.
"Voters have already rejected Jenkins’ chaos, lawsuits, and nonstop victim routine. Congressman Randy Fine is a proven conservative fighter who shows up, tells the truth, and delivers results," Power continued. "This district doesn’t want a candidate shopping for relevance. It already has a Congressman who gets the job done.”
Power also mentioned Republicans' large registration lead over Democrats in the state. According to the Florida Division of Elections, Republicans hold a 1.4 million registration lead over Democrats in the state.
"Floridians overwhelmingly support the strong conservative values that make our state great, not the Squad-style radical agenda Jennifer Jenkins is hoping to latch onto," Power concluded. "We look forward to her crushing defeat this November."
