After dropping out of her 2026 U.S. Senate Democratic primary race and endorsing Alexander Vindman, whose testimony before Congress led to the eventual impeachment of President Donald Trump, former Brevard County School Board member Jennifer Jenkins will be running for the U.S. House of Representatives against Trump-endorsed Rep. Randy Fine in Florida’s 6th congressional district.

A source close to Jenkins told The Floridian that she was expected to announce her candidacy against Rep. Fine on Thursday.

Rep. Fine’s district is considered to be ‘Safe Republican,’ but the expected redistricting of Florida’s congressional seats that will take place during a special legislative session in April could put Fine’s and other Republican-leaning districts in play for Democrats.

Both Fine and Jenkins could not be reached for comment.
