Rep. Kevin Steele has filed to run for Florida's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) against current CFO Blaise Ingoglia in the 2026 midterm election cycle, and has rolled out an endorsement from former governor and Senator Rick Scott.
In a press release, Rep. Steele asserted that "Florida families deserve a CFO who will run the state like a winning business," adding that he would be "tough" on "waste and corruption."
“Florida families deserve a CFO who will run our state like a winning business — smart, tough, and with zero tolerance for waste and corruption. As CFO, I will fight to safeguard every hard-earned tax dollar, protect consumers, and hold state government accountable to the people. I’ve spent my career building companies from the ground up, fixing broken systems, and getting results. I’ll bring that same America First, results-driven mindset to protect taxpayers and make Florida more affordable and stronger than ever,” said Rep.Steele.
Senator Scott, who in the past was at odds with former Republican Party of Florida Chairman Ingoglia, called Steele a "proven leader and true conservative," emphasizing Steele's business acumen.
“Kevin Steele is a proven leader and a true conservative who knows how to get results,” Senator Scott said. “As a business owner, he’s created jobs, cut waste, and made organizations more efficient. As a legislator, he’s fought to protect Florida taxpayers and lower costs for families. I’m proud to support Kevin because he’ll bring that same fiscal responsibility, accountability, and focus on results to the CFO’s office.”
