Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) celebrated the passage of the 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which contained several amendments that he introduced or sponsored.
The six amendments of Rep. Steube's include Amendment 4, which requires Congress to be briefed on the status of deliveries to the Government of Israel of any military aircraft or air-launched munitions that are approved for transfer but are either undelivered or only partially delivered.
Amendments 282 and 283 are also Israel-centric.
No. 282 requiring an annual report to Congress on cooperation between the United States and Israel to increase the production capacity and inventory of the Arrow interceptor. No. 283 demands a similar yearly report on U.S.-Israel military exercises, emphasizing the mutual benefit of the relationship between the United States and Israel.
Amendment 280 requires the annual Congressional report on Iran's military to be expanded and modified, while Amendments 279 and 281 are domestic in nature.
The 279th Amendment prioritizes local law enforcement agencies for the adoption of ceremonial horses no longer utilized by the U.S. Army. Meanwhile, No. 281 requires the Defense Health Agency to develop a plan to reopen any previously closed chiropractic clinic on a military installation and to pay chiropractors under the GS scale.
"I am pleased to announce the adoption and passage of six of my amendments in this year's NDAA," said Rep. Steube in a statement. "These provisions will strengthen our national security, reinforce key alliances in the Middle East, and ensure greater support for our veterans and servicemembers."
Steube is not the only Florida Republican to get amendments in the NDAA, which passed the House. Representative Jimmy Patronis (R-FL) was able to get his Amendment repealing the 2021 Biden electric vehicle mandate into the bill as well.
"I'm proud that my amendment was included in the NDAA, and I congratulate my colleagues in the House for passing this vital piece of legislation that ensures our military has the tools it needs to keep our nation safe, protect American interests around the globe, and advance our agenda of peace through strength," said Rep. Patronis.
