Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) discussed redistricting in Missouri during a recent appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria, saying it is reflective of the need for Republicans to maintain control of the House of Representatives in the 2026 midterms.
Additionally, Rep. Steube accused Democrats of gerrymandering "for decades," pointing to states such as California, New York, and Illinois.
"You have seen a mass exodus of individuals from California and New York to other states like Florida and Texas," Rep. Steube continued, adding, "So it makes sense for those state legislations to look at the information and the demographics."
As noted, Missouri's new redistricting map heavily favors Republicans, which the Florida Congressman said further validated the fact that President Donald Trump won the "Show Me State" by 18% in 2024.
"So you have seen in a short period of time how much the demographics in the state have changed, and the state legislature is smart to reflect that with new maps," said Steube.
Substitute host Cheryl Casone asked the Florida Congressman how confident he was that these redistricting efforts would help Republicans next November, as losing the House could mean Democrats would block President Donald Trump's agenda and try to impeach him.
"It is finally time for Republicans to stand up and do fair districts for their states," Steube replied, adding, "Florida just enacted a committee to look at this." "So as they go into committee weeks this fall, they are going to be looking at redistricting Florida."
Steube noted that the sunshine state has received an influx of people "because of the policies that we have in place, and our districts should reflect that."
Should the midterm election sway in favor of Democrats, Steube warns that "it will be impeachment, impeachment, impeachment." "I was here under Speaker Pelosi when Trump was President. We had two years of the false Russia collusion hoax, impeachment hoaxes that went nowhere, and did nothing for the American people."
