Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia announced he's making a run for a full term as Florida's CFO in 2026 on Tuesday. Ingoglia, appointed to the position by Gov. Ron DeSantis in July, has been probing local counties and municipalities over questionable spending habits in a DOGE-esque [Department of Government Efficiency] crackdown almost immediately since assuming the role.

“Today, I’m officially launching my campaign for Florida’s Chief Financial Officer because families and taxpayers deserve a trusted, conservative fighter to make Florida more affordable,” Inoglia said in a release.

“I’m thankful to Governor DeSantis for putting his trust in me and appointing me to stand strong on key priorities— lowering property taxes,  auditing local governments, holding insurance companies accountable and supporting our brave first responders in my role as Chief Fire Marshal," Ingoglia continued. "I promise you, nobody will work harder than I will to deliver on these promises. Florida is a beacon of freedom and opportunity and I will fight to ensure they don’t “New York Our Florida!”

According to the release, Ingoglia has been an innovator in overseeing property tax reform and their adverse effects on the community. Exposing their burdening symptoms, Ingolia quickly created a series of live seminars showing taxpayers how the government recklessly manages their own money, which he fittingly titled "Government Gone Wild."

Using that playbook, Ingoglia went on to unseat "career, big government, tax-and-spend county commissioners" in Hernando County in 2008 who refused to offer property tax relief, the release noted.

That momentum led Ingoglia to the Florida House, where he was elected in 2014. He was later chosen as Chair of the Republican Party of Florida in 2015, and subsequently reelected in 2017.

Ingoglia was later elected to the Florida Senate in 2022, earning a reputation as a "conservative pitbull" on issues surrounding illegal immigration, election integrity, and tax cuts. He stood in the Senate before becoming CFO earlier this summer.

The CFO election is set for Nov. 3, 2026.
