U.S. Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) drafted a resolution to remove Illinois Congresswoman Delia Ramirez from the Homeland Security committee after the representative said at an event in Mexico City in Spanish that she was a proud Guatemalan before an Americ

Rep. Gimenez argued that the congresswoman, a "Squad" member, should be removed over the comments for violating her oath of office. Gimenez also noted his gratitude to the United States after his family fled from Cuba and Communist Dictator Fidel Castro in 1969.

"I was born in Cuba and exiled from my homeland shortly after the communist takeover," Gimenez told Fox News Digital.
