Representative-elect Jimmy Patronis (R-FL) laid out his legislative agenda in his first interview since his electoral victory Tuesday night on Fox News's Faulkner Focus. He said that in addition to focusing on veterans, "President Trump is looking forward to hitting the reset button, and I'm looking forward to helping and doing that as soon as possible."
Rep.-elect Patronis called the endorsement of President Donald Trump a "game-changer" in his electoral race, "but mince no words: We have got work to do. We have got the President's agenda to execute, and I am looking forward to being sworn in tonight, and we will start working on exactly that: Making America Great Again."
Host Harris Faulkner asked if having the majority in the House gave Republicans "more breathing room" to enact the Trump agenda, which Rep.-elect Patronis confirmed.
"I think anytime we expand that majority, it allows us to have some momentum to push forward," the newest Florida Congressman answered, adding, "If the Democrats think that any seats in Florida are at risk, any Republican seats are at risk in 2026, they have got another thing coming. They got embarrassed, and they literally sent about $16 million into the furnace last night and set it on fire."
Faulkner commented on Patronis's celebratory post on X (formerly Twitter), featuring a picture of him with his sons and asked how he felt.
Guess who is going to Washington?!!! This family!!! ?? Thank you NW Florida, I won’t let you down! #flapol pic.twitter.com/TJ7O1OtEEk

"I still haven't touched the ground yet; you've got me all misty," Patronis laughed before saying, "This is an opportunity. This is not about Jimmy Patronis. This is about my kids, but this is also about the kids across America. We have got to leave this country in a better place than we found it. We are obligated, as parents, to treat this place so our kids do not have the mess to deal with. So this is exactly what we are going to do."
Closing out the interview, Faulkner asked, "President Trump's agenda is moving really, really fast, and it is also a big agenda. So, where do you want to get started? Where will you be focused?"
"So Northwest Florida has a massive military economy, but we are also the highest per capita with retired veterans," Patronis answered; "So we have got to make sure those issues are first and foremost on whatever we do in our office accomplishes those people first, and we have got to secure the border, and we have got to take care of the family household. Inflation has crippled our nation, and you know what? President Trump is looking forward to hitting the reset button, and I'm looking forward to helping and doing that as soon as possible."
