Representative Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) commented on President Donald Trump's border security and mass deportation efforts, saying that "nothing that the President is doing is a surprise" in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria.

Substitute host Cheryl Casone began by noting that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested 538 illegal aliens in a single day while encounters at the border dropped 35%.

Additionally, the Wall Street Journal noted that Trump is requesting up to 10,000 troops at the border and for the Pentagon to resume construction of the wall, prompting Casone to ask Rep. Diaz-Balart for his take.

"Nothing that the President is doing is a surprise," the Florida Congressman answered, "This is, again, what he promised the American people that he would do. I mentioned that he is a no-nonsense, get-things-done kind of person, and so nobody should be surprised."

Moreover, Rep. Diaz-Balart further suggested that "you are already starting to see dramatic differences on the border, on foreign policy, on attitudes around the world, including in the woke corporations of the United States of America."

However, he also insisted that Republicans remain unified in carrying out Trump's agenda and "not expect perfection, not criticize other Republicans that we do not agree with because they do something that we do not necessarily like or think it is perfect and get this done."

After all, Diaz-Balart reiterated that Republicans have a slim majority in the House of Representatives, and thus, "there is very little margin for error."

So far, House and Senate Republicans have remained unified on the border crisis, as the Laken Riley Act, which immediately deports illegal immigrants who have been arrested for shoplifting, assault against police officers, and crimes that result in death or serious bodily injury, passed in both chambers with unanimous Republican support and some Democrat votes.

46 Democrats helped the Laken Riley Act pass the House, while 12 Democratic Senators voted to pass it in the Senate.
