Trump Camp Calls Tim Walz a 'West Coast Wannabe'

A social media snafu over the weekend gave the impression that Vice President Kamala Harris (D) had chosen Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro (D) as her vice-presidential candidate. However, that turned out to be false as Vice President Harris appears to have chosen another candidate. Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz (D) has not been announced as her running mate, but the Trump campaign is dubbing him a 'west coast wannabe'.

Governor Walz is the mastermind behind branding the Trump-Vance ticket "weird," and Vice President Harris has used it as part of her campaigns marketing. With the Wisconsin governor set to join Vice President Harris on the campaign trail, the Trump campaign has responded, calling him a "dangerously liberal extremist."

In a statement, Karoline Leavitt, the Trump Campaign Press Secretary, commented that "it's no surprise that San Francisco Liberal Kamala Harris wants West Coast wannabe Tim Walz as her running-mate." "Walz has spent his governorship trying to reshape Minnesota in the image of the Golden State."

"While Walz pretends to support Americans in the Heartland, when the cameras are off, he believes that rural America is 'mostly cows and rocks'," Leavitt noted, referring to a 'hot-mic' moment where the governor was caught discounting rural Minnesota as "mostly cows and rocks.

"From proposing his own carbon-free agenda, to suggesting stricter emission standards for gas-powered cars, and embracing policies to allow convicted felons to vote, Walz is obsessed with spreading California's dangerously liberal agenda far and wide."

If Walz won’t tell voters the truth, we will: just like Kamala Harris, Tim Walz is a dangerously liberal extremist, and the Harris-Walz California dream is every American’s nightmare," Leavitt concluded.

Conservatives have denounced Governor Walz in the past, citing his more progressive policies. The governor has not shied away from his views, noting during a "White Dudes for Harris" call that "one person's socialism is another person's neighborliness."
