House Republicans Continue Their Self-Destruction

Enough Florida House congressional Republicans voted against a stand-alone Israel funding bill to strike the measure down on Tuesday.

Republicans got what they wanted—a freestanding bill to help fund Israel—but because the bill would increase the overall debt, four Florida Republicans voted against the funding.

What's worse, the highly-anticipated House impeachment vote of Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas also failed.

Republicans miscalculated and failed to pass the measure by one vote.

All is not lost because while the measure crashed and burned, it lived to get a vote on another day.

The vote could come down as early as today.

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise would have been the deciding vote but was not available because he was receiving cancer treatment.

Rep. Scalise is rumored to be traveling to Capitol Hill Wednesday morning to help impeach Mayorkas.

Rep. Cory Mills -Today’s failure to impeach Mayorkas is a slap in the face to the American people. ACCOUNTABILITY MATTERS, and rest assured, this will not be the last attempt at getting it for the public.

I’m proud to have cosponsored and voted in favor of impeaching Secretary Mayorkas for his failure to comply with and uphold the law!

Congressman Jared Moskowitz-My Republican colleagues want to impeach Secretary Mayorkas not because of any impeachable crime but because they say he’s bad at his job. By the way, here’s a list of Trump cabinet officials Trump himself said were bad at their jobs. I guess they should have all been impeached?

Rep. Michele K. Rayner-"It's almost akin to a surgeon general's warning that you would find on a pack of cigarettes". Today, I presented my bill, HB207, "Social Media Protection for Minors".

Hakeem Jeffries-What does the sham Republican impeachment effort have to do with addressing the challenges at our border?

Absolutely nothing.
