All Hail the new Chief?

Florida GOP Chairman Christian Ziegler's goose hasn't even been cooked through yet, and Republicans have already stuck a fork in him over the sexual assault allegations he was hit with. Vice Chairman Evan Power is rolling out some hefty endorsements in his bid to be the next Grand Poobah of the state Republican Party of Florida.

We first reported that top elected Republican officials were on the verge of endorsing his candidacy and were right.

Some local Republican executive committees have also gone all in for Power. Pasco, Lake, and Broward have all endorsed, including the popular State Committeewoman Michele Merrell

AG Commissioner Wilton Simpson, Reps. Matt Gaetz and Laurel Lee, State Senators Blaise Ingoglia, Jay Collins, and Joe Gruters.

Interestingly enough, Ziegler was vice chairman of the state party under Sen. Gruters.

Gov. Ron DeSantis and Senator Marco Rubio have both called on Ziegler to resign, but have yet to throw their support behind Ziegler. Power's wife is close to familia DeSantis, having worked on the governor's gubernatorial reelection campaign.
