While making a television appearance, Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) spoke on the strategy for moving toward peace in the Middle East. He said the only way is “the complete destruction of Hamas.”
After seeing the scenes from the Israeli-Hamas war, Rep. Gimenez called them “chilling.”

“The only way to lasting peace is through strength and the complete destruction of Hamas. The images that I saw of what Hamas did; I heard the joy in their voice as they were killing Israelis and innocent people. And then the joy in the parents of some of these terrorists that knew that their sons were doing these atrocities across the border in Israel is really chilling,” said Rep. Gimenez.
Moreover, Gimenez concluded that the Israelis have to be “laser-focused” on the destruction of Hamas.
“I’ve come to the conclusion there’s only one way here that we’re going to get peace in Israel and Israeli is going to live in peace as far as Hamas is concerned, that’s with the utter destruction of Hamas. And they have to be laser-focused on that mission: they have to destroy Hamas,” said the Florida congressman.
Recently, Rep. Gimenez met with The Floridian to discuss the threat of terrorist attacks via the southern border from foreign adversaries such as Iran.
“They could be homegrown … There’s two million people that cross the border that we don’t know who the heck they are. I’d put some money down that at least some of the people [that came] across the border that – we don’t know who they are, the gotaways, etc.”
He would go on to mention that foreign adversaries “have people on their hit list” to attempt assassinations against American officials.
“Iran has people on their hit list, they are paying for assassins to basically assassinate American officials here in the United States,” said Gimenez.
The Florida congressman bashed Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas and President Joe Biden (D) for their policy at the border, even claiming the historic numbers of illegal immigrant crossings are “on purpose.”
“It’s obvious to me that he is not doing his job, and it’s also obvious to me that him and the President are doing this on purpose because there’s plenty of evidence, there’s plenty of people telling him that they have to change their policy in order to stop what’s going on at the border and they refuse to do this,” said Gimenez. “You can’t be – and I’ve said this many times – you can’t be this dumb.”
Congressman Gimenez represents Florida’s 28th Congressional District.
